The Agricultural Business Chamber (Agbiz) was originally founded in 1946 as the Co-operative Council to represent agricultural co-operatives. It evolved through several transformations—becoming Agricultural Co-operative Business (ACB) in 1995, Agricultural Business Chamber (ABC) in 2003, and finally relaunched as Agbiz in 2012. Today, Agbiz is a respected association of agribusinesses operating throughout South Africa and southern Africa under the slogan “The way to prosperity.” Agbiz promotes transformation, economic growth, and positive development across the agricultural value chain. The Agbiz Centenary Bursary Fund was established to honour Agbiz members that have reached 100 years of existence and to support postgraduate education in agribusiness.
