ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must meet specific entry requirements to qualify for consideration. Students must be South African citizens and must be studying full time at a recognised and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa. Academic level requirements depend on the chosen field. Students in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering must be entering their second or fourth year of study. Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Mining Engineering students must be entering their second year. Geology students must be entering their second or third year. Data Science applicants must be entering their third year, and Mine Surveying students must be entering their third or honours year.

Applicants must be able to maintain the required academic average as set out in the bursary agreement. They must be committed to completing all academic tasks, including assignments, projects and examinations. Students should be prepared to submit academic transcripts each semester and participate in mentoring sessions, workshops or community initiatives. Applicants must also be willing to complete any service obligations or internships required after graduation.
