About Hillary Construction Bursary
Hillary Construction is one of the long-standing civil engineering and earthmoving companies operating across South Africa and neighbouring countries. The company was originally established as an earthmoving business in 1963 and later became a civil engineering contractor headquartered in Polokwane. For decades, it has worked with major clients in mining, public infrastructure, and local government.
The Hillary Construction Bursary Programme has been introduced to support dedicated students pursuing technical studies related to the construction industry. The bursary aims to help build future professionals who can contribute to large-scale civil and infrastructure projects across the country.
Fields of Study Covered
Funding is available for students completing National Diploma or Degree programmes in the following fields of study:
- Civil Engineering
- Quantity Surveying
- Surveying
Bursary Coverage and Additional Information
The bursary provides financial support for several academic expenses, including registration, tuition, examinations, and monthly allowances. These allowances may cover accommodation, food, travelling costs, and study-related equipment, subject to approval.
All shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview and psychometric testing at the company’s head office in Polokwane. If no feedback is received, applicants may assume the application was not successful.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following conditions before applying:
- You must be a South African citizen or hold permanent residency.
- You must have completed Matric with an exemption certificate.
- You must be enrolled in a National Diploma or a Degree in one of the approved fields.
- Your institution must be a recognised and accredited University or University of Technology in South Africa.
- University applicants must have achieved at least a C symbol in Mathematics and Science in Matric.
- University of Technology applicants must have achieved at least a D symbol in Mathematics and Science in Matric.
- You must have an overall academic average of 65 percent or higher in your current studies.
