Matla A Bokone Solar, formerly Droogfontein 2 Solar (RF) (Pty) Ltd, is one of South Africa’s largest solar power projects. With over 200,000 solar panels, the facility produces approximately 75 megawatts of renewable energy annually. Located near Kimberley in the Northern Cape Province, the project is entirely South African-owned and committed to community empowerment. The initiative benefits several communities including Riverton, Barkly West, Kimberley Central, Boshof, Delportshoop, Galeshewe, Greenpoint, Holpan, Platfontein, Ritchie, Roodepan, and Windsorton.
