What Will Foodbev SETA Bursary Cover?
For Master’s Students
The bursary will cover registration fees, tuition fees, research costs, and study material, up to R120 000, for the entire duration of studies. You must submit the progress report at the end of the year, signed by the supervisor.
For PhD Students
Tuition fees and costs associated with the research are up to R150 000. For the entire duration of studies, based on the evaluation outcome of the students’ approved research topics, you will be required to submit a progress report signed by the supervisor at the end of the academic year.
Eligibility Criteria
You must be curious to know the criteria before applying. I have applied for the master’s program, and here are the eligibility criteria for getting a Foodbev SETA bursary:
- You must be a South African citizen.
- Intend to study in the Master’s or PhD degree program.
- The research topic must be related to the food and beverage manufacturing chain value.
- Your supervisor must endorse your research topic.
- PhD students must have an approved research topic with an estimated time frame.
- You must study at one of the recognized universities of South Africa
- You are not receiving any other fund or bursary.
- Preference will be given to students with disadvantaged backgrounds.
