About the Bursary

• Architectural Studies (BSc), Property-related Masters Programmes, Property Studies (BSc), Property Valuation and Management (BCom), Real Estate (BSc), Construction Studies (BSc), Property-related PhD Programmes, Property Development and Management (PGDipPDM – Postgraduate Diploma), Quantity Surveying (BSc), and Urban/ Town and Regional Planning (Bachelor).

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the SAPOA bursary, one must fulfill the following conditions.

• The applicant must be a South African national.
• The applicant must be under 35 years of age.
• The applicant must have completed Matric or must be currently in their Matric education.
• The applicant must be studying or registered in a full-time property-sector-related qualification listed by the bursary provider.
• The applicant must be studying or registered at a public educational institution in South Africa.
• The applicant must have completed their undergraduate studies if they are applying for postgraduate funding.
• Please note that preferences will be given to students who are in their first qualification and have no full-time employment.

Application Process

Applications for the SAPOA bursary 2024 are to be made online at sapoabursaryfund.auraams.app/Home/Index. From here, you have to register and hit the Apply button. Provide the personal and academic details and double-check the application form.

Once done, upload the documents. Please note that documents must be certified within the last 3 months and all the documents should be combined in a single file. Finally, submit the application.

Documents Required for the Application

• Certified copy of South African ID document.
• Matric term report (term 2) with official school stamp. It applies to students who are currently in Matric.
• Certified copy of a Matric certificate. It applies to students who have completed Matric.

• Acceptance letter from an accredited recognized institution. It should be on the institution’s letterhead.
• Your most recent official academic transcript. It should be on the institution’s letterhead. This condition applies to students who are currently in their university degrees.
• Recommendation letter by your supervisor. It only applies to postgraduate students.
• A bursary agreement or letter if you are receiving funding from another program or NSFAS.
• Certified copies of the ID documents or death certificates of your parents or guardians, as applicable.
• Proof of household income of your parents or guardians. It should be 3-month payslips if they are employed, an affidavit if they are unemployed, and a SASSA document if they are receiving a grant. Certified copies of all these documents are required.
• A motivational letter, which states why you should be awarded this bursary and your future goals.
• CV, which has a detailed work experience and academic background.
• Two letters of recommendation, each on one page, PDF.
• A Department of Labor Employment Equity Act EEA1 form and a doctor’s letter for disabled applicants.
• Students under the age of 18 must provide their parents and guardians ID document with a completed consent form.
