About the TFG Fellowship Bursary Programme – Fields Covered
TFG is inviting students to apply for the TFG Data Science and Leadership Fellowship for the 2026 academic year.
This bursary programme is targeted at students pursuing a research or coursework-based Master’s Degree in Data Science or related fields. TFG believes data scientists play a vital role in solving national issues by helping allocate scarce resources through insights derived from big data.
The programme aims to develop a pipeline of qualified data specialists who can contribute meaningfully to both the company and the country.
About the TFG Fellowship Programme – Expenses Covered
The fellowship bursary will cover the following costs:
- Tuition fees
- Living allowance
- Meal allowance
- Study equipment
- An exclusive fellowship event hosted at TFG Head Office in Cape Town
Eligibility Requirements for the TFG Fellowship
Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be studying or intending to study toward a Master’s Degree (research or coursework) in Data Science or a related field
- Must be entering 1st or 2nd year of study in 2026
- Must be studying or accepted at a public South African university
- Must demonstrate academic excellence
- Must be creative and innovative
- Must possess strong leadership capabilities
- Preference will be given to candidates from designated groups

Applications must be submitted online via the official TFG Data Science and Leadership Fellowship Application for 2026.

- Certified copy of your South African ID
- Full academic record, including June 2025 results or latest progress reports
