Golden Arrow Bus Services (Pty) Ltd was established in 1861 and is a leading public transport operator in Cape Town, commuting passengers across the Metropolitan Cape Peninsula and Cape Flats. The company is owned by Hosken Consolidated Investments Limited and operates more than 1,000 buses on over 1,300 routes.

About the GABS Bursary Programme – Fields Covered
The Golden Arrow Bus Services (GABS) Bursary is inviting students to apply for funding for the 2025 academic year. Bursaries will be awarded for studies towards a BSc in Computer Science.
More About the GABS Bursary Programme – Coverage & Service Contract
The bursary will cover:
- Tuition fees
- Transportation
- Accommodation (as per actual university costs)
- Monthly allowance of R4 000 (or as determined by GABS)
Bursary recipients will be required to work for Golden Arrow Bus Services after graduation for a duration equal to the number of years funded.

Eligibility Requirements for the Golden Arrow Bursary
Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be studying towards a BSc in Computer Science
- Must be entering 2nd year or higher of study in 2025
- Must have a combined household income of:
- Not more than R400 000 per annum, OR
- Not more than R600 000 per annum if living with a disability
- All SASSA grant recipients qualify for funding
- Must be willing to work for GABS for the number of years funded

There is no application form; applicants must submit the following documents:
- Certified copy of ID document
- Certified copy of Matric certificate
- Certified copies of previous academic transcripts
- Proof of enrolment (on institution letterhead)
- Proof of address
- Proof of household income (3 months recent bank statements, payslips, or affidavit if unemployed)
- Recommendation letters from academic or professional referees
- If disabled: disability assessment report
- If orphaned: death certificate of parents
