- Achieved a minimum average of 60% in Matric
- Entering first-year full-time undergraduate study in 2026 in one of the eligible fields
- Accepted or applied to study at a recognised South African university or higher learning institution
- Total household income of R350 000 per annum or less
- Not receiving any other bursary funding
- Preference to students from disadvantaged families (registered indigent) and local institutions, followed by Potchefstroom, Mahikeng, and Gauteng universities
