About the Bursary

The GrandWest bursary program intends to fund students from low-income families. These students are the ones who are thriving in the listed academic fields, despite their inability to cover the expenses. The fields covered under the bursary include the following.

Agriculture, Entrepreneurship, Human Resources, Marketing, Tourism and Hospitality, Electrical Engineering, Finance, Information Technology, and Mechanical Engineering.

Eligibility Criteria

You must satisfy the following conditions to become eligible for the Grant West bursary.

• You must be a South African national.
• You must be under 27 years of age at the time of application.
• You must be living in the Western Cape province.
• You must have completed Matric education.
• You must be studying or intend to study toward an undergraduate qualification in the fields listed by the bursary provider.
• You must be registered at one of the following recognized institutions in South Africa, University of Cape Town UCT, Stellenbosch University SU, University of Western Cape UWC, and Cape Peninsula University of Technology CPUT.
• You must be studying toward your first tertiary institution degree.
• You must have an excellent academic record.
• You must not be working full-time.
• Please note that students with impairments and disabilities will be given preference.
