About the Trans Hex Bursary – Fields Covered
Trans Hex is inviting applications for its 2026 bursary programme. The bursary supports students pursuing qualifications in fields that are essential to mining and marine operations.
Funding will be awarded to students studying in the following areas:
Crewing
Engineering
Environmental Management
Geology
Geophysics
Marine Engineering
Metallurgy
Mining
Nautical Sciences
Other disciplines critical to mining operations, including Mine Supply Chain
Through this initiative, Trans Hex aims to nurture skilled professionals and future leaders in technical and operational mining fields.
Scholarship Value and Coverage
The bursary provides financial assistance to help ease the burden of tertiary study expenses.
Funding covers tuition fees, accommodation, a meal allowance, and travel costs. The support is designed to ensure students can focus on their academic progress without financial strain.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements before applying. Failure to meet all criteria may result in disqualification.
Applicants must be South African citizens or residents. They must have completed Matric and be currently studying towards a qualification in one of the listed fields.
Candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in pursuing a career in mining, geology, maritime, environmental, or engineering sectors. They must show dedication to their studies and demonstrate financial need.
Preference will be given to students from Doringbaai, Ebenhaeser, Lutzville, Lamberts Bay, Vredendal, and surrounding communities.
